imageKata (Katica) KULAVKOVA was born in 1951, Veles, Republic of Macedonia. She is a poet, theoretician of literature and literary essayist. Education: Faculty of Philology, “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” University, Skopje. Received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the same university, and Ph.D. degree from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 1986. Assoc.

Professor of Theory of Literature and Literary Hermeneutics at Faculty of Philology, Skopje, Department of General and Comparative Literature.
Head of the Department.
Head of the research project (theory and interpretation of the novel, theory of intertextuality, new development program with Paris III and CEU – Budapest), participant of the international research projects, participant of a number of international poetry festivals, symposiums and research projects (Paris, Istanbul, Moscow, Harvard, Naples, Thessaloniki, Lahti, Trois-RiviГЁres, Rhodos, Canaria, LodГЁve, Zagreb, Belgrade, Struga, Lisbone, Marseille, Corse…).

Her poems have been translated into many languages and represented in anthologies and selections of the Macedonian contemporary poetry. Memberships: Macedonian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Macedonian P.E.N. Centre, Macedonian Writer’s Association, Macedonian Comparatists Association.

Chair of the Translation and Linguistic Rights Committee of PEN International. Editor in Cheaf of the international multilingual E-Edition of poetry, fiction and essay, DIVERSITY/DIVERSITE/DIVERSITAS/RAZNOLIKOST (www.diversity.org.mk).
